If Tears

If tears could sing a song that is known
What would the chorus now be?
A story of how a will on a given throne
Was never truly strong enough to succeed

If tears could paint a picture true
Would the image be bold or pastel blue?
A tale of how the floor always fell
And yet how the pain stayed hidden without a tell

If tears could build a tower of all truths
Would the building just fracture and fall?
A narration of how lies always come through
As the past will never rest in futures new

If tears could draw the scene as it stands
Would the reality be believed or shoved aside?
Can we bear to be told the realities so sure
And how even in tears the pain is shunned and ignored
