Trapped and Free

Trapped and free
Unsure where’s best to be
Open and slammed closed
Knowing neither is believed
Wanting all and nothing else
Living on an empty shelf of self

Half empty never nearly full
Riding the back end of the bull
Moving forward holding back
Repapering over the old cracks
Lucid sight unable to see
What it is to truly be serene

Lost inside seemingly found
To all ties eternally bound
Full of life but vacant still
Ground out over perceptions mill
Ecstatically happy deeply forlorn
Never wanting to be alone

Burning bright fading fast
How much further can this last?
In the beginning to the end
Everything will be as it is to suspend
Tapped and sincerely free
Immersed in hope where it’s best to be
